Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif, has said that terrorists have been driven out of the Swat Valley and they will not be allowed to return.
According to the Dawn, General Sharif's statement came at a large gathering of elders of Swat and tourists from across the country on the concluding day of the Swat Tourism and Trade Festival being held at Kalam on Monday.
The army chief praised the people of the Swat Valley for their support and their efforts in the war against terrorists to restore peace in the valley.
He said that the terrorists have been driven out as a result of the combined efforts of the Pakistan Army and the civil forces.
The army will always stand by the people of Swat to streamline civilian institutions, General Sharif said.
