In the aftermath of a massive earthquake that left more than 300 dead in Pakistan, national cricketers of the region have vowed to extend their support towards the relief efforts.

Pakistan's victory over England in the second Test in Dubai was dampened after hearing the news of the disaster, with team manager Intikhab Alam saying that players were intending to do relief work once they return home after the conclusion of the three-match series.

Extending heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, captain Misbah ul Haq said that they were badly hurt by the news of the earthquake and vowed to make contribution towards the relief work.

Echoing similar views, veteran batsman Younis Khan said that he would definitely take part in the relief work and insisted that it was their duty to help their fellow citizens.

Earlier on Monday, a powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake had wreaked havoc on the remote and mountainous areas in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Relief efforts have been significantly hampered due to the damage caused to the limited infrastructure and communication lines.
