Former Pakistani Test captain Wasim Akram has said that Pakistan would benefit from his pace partner Waqar Younis' appointment as the head coach of the national team.
The fast bowling legend believes that Younis' appointment as head coach is a great step for Pakistan cricket and noted that it would certainly benefit the team that would feature in next year's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
According to The Dawn, Akram said that Younis has always been an inspiration for youngsters and is one of the best cricketers Pakistan had produced.
The former skipper also added that all the coaches, who would be appointed after some time, for different departments would have to work as a unit in order to get the desired results for the Pakistan national team.
Akram also emphasized that Younis' immediate aim should be to prepare the team for the upcoming busy season, which also includes the 2015 World Cup, and is hoping that the current changes in Pakistan Cricket Board set-up is going to prove beneficial for the national team, the report added.
