Pappu Yadav demands CBI probe of Barh kidnapping-cum murder case

Madhepura Member of Parliament Pappu Yadav on Wednesday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe against Janata Dal (United) leader Anant Singh, whose name has cropped up in a kidnapping case.

"I only want that this matter be investigated by the CBI. Every child knows what has happened. Even we want Anant ji to be innocent. If he is innocent, then there should be no problem in facing the CBI enquiry," he told ANI here.

The ousted Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader also used the occasion to target the Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) Government in the state.

"Nitish Kumar's government is full of such people. They are the ones who are running this government, these sand mafia, drug mafia.. Nitish ji has surrendered before them," he said.

Yadav further claimed that the poor people in Bihar are being suppressed for the past 25 years.

"The poor people in Bihar are being tortured for the past 15 years and those in power are encouraging the same..The power is in the hands of the criminals. The same thing happened 15 years ago and the same is taking place 10 years later," said Yadav.

"I am just against those criminals, who have tortured the weak and poor. I am against those, who have brutally killed and murdered," he added while asserting that he was ready to lock horns with such people.

Yadav also questioned the government's move to transfer Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Jitendra Rana who revealed the entire matter.

"Why was the SSP removed? For how many days was he there? Why within three months the SSP has been removed? What was his fault? Was he dishonest? Did he steal? Why was he removed?" he asked.

Rana, who was transferred to Motihari in a minor reshuffle of police officers last night, had earlier told reporters that four persons arrested in connection with the kidnapping of four and murder of Pawan Yadav, one of the abducted men, on June 17 at Barh in Patna district, have named Mokamah MLA Anant Singh as the man responsible for the incident.

This disclosure has come as an embarrassment for the ruling JD (U).
