The Parliament on Tuesday was repeatedly adjourned after the opposition in both Houses raised the Moga incident, where a teenage girl was molested and thrown off a moving

bus, leading to her death.

According to reports, Congress leader Ambika Soni raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha, which was then backed by other members, who demanded a discussion on the case. Deputy Chairman P J Kurien refused permission for the issue to be discussed, stating that the Chair had had no prior notice of the same; nevertheless, the House was adjourned twice in the pre-lunch session.

Meanwhile, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party leaders raised the issue in the Lok Sabha. However, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Venkaiah Naidu noted that the matter had already been discussed in House and could not be raised again.

A 13-year-old girl died after she and her mother were allegedly pushed off a moving bus on the Moga-Bathinda highway for resisting a molestation bid on April 29 in Moga, Punjab.

The incident led to widespread outrage and a ban on the Orbit Company's buses by the Punjab government.

The bus in which the crime took place reportedly belonged to Orbit Transport Company, owned by Orbit Aviation Pvt Ltd, which is co-owned by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.

The police have impounded the bus.
