PCB chief claims 'inappropriate' for Moin Khan to be in casino while team in disarray

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Shahryar Khan has claimed that it is inappropriate that their chief selector Moin Khan should be in a casino at a time when their team is not doing well.

Moin had reportedly been visiting the casino in Christchurch ahead of Pakistan's loss to the West Indies. The PCB is probing in the matter as it was another hitch in Pakistan's World Cup campaign.

Shahryar claimed that he has talked to Moin and they have sought an explanation from him, adding that it is inappropriate that the chief selector should be at a casino at a time when their team is not doing well, Stuff.co.nz reported.

Reports in Pakistan have claimed that Moin, a former Test captain, had visited a casino on the night of the match at Christchurch's Hagley Oval against West Indies in which Misbah-ul Haq's were hammered by 150 runs, their worst ever defeat in a World Cup.

There was reportedly no suggestion that Moin would be asked to return.

Shahryar claimed that tight now they have not thought about it nor taken any decision to call the chief selector back, adding that they would make a judgement after all the facts are known.

Moin, who was removed as the team manager before the World Cup, was surprisingly sent with the team for the World Cup. The PCB in the past had never allowed its chief selector to accompany the team on foreign tours, the report added.
