Mehbooba Mufti, president of the Peoples Democratic Party, today lashed out at the ruling government in Jammu and Kashmir for the abuse of Muzaffar Lankar, the chief engineer of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Health Engineering Department (PHED).
Speaking to ANI, Mufti said, "This is not the first time that state minister has behaved in this manner. Muzaffar Lankar is a man of integrity. If there is any kind of resistance from an officer, then he is treated like this. What the government has done is wrong and unacceptable".
Lankar resigned yesterday after accusing state minister Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan of verbally abusing him during an official meeting at the civil secretariat.
