Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said he was confident that the people of Delhi wanted his party to form the government again, and added that he plans to turn the city into one of the best destinations in the world.

"The people of Delhi had seen our government, which lasted for 49 days. When we created the government, we reduced inflation, electricity costs, water costs and prevented stealing of water. We stopped the practice of giving donations to get admissions into nursery and made the entire process more transparent. We reduced corruption in the city. The police officers, MCD officials and the transport department had stopped taking bribes. People themselves are saying that they want those 49 days back," Kejriwal told ANI in an exclusive interview.

Speaking about his party's plans for the upcoming elections, Kejriwal vowed to turn Delhi into a world-class city.

"Our overall idea is to reduce the cost of living in the country. There was a time when potatoes were available for Rs. 10 per kilo; today it sells for Rs. 50 per kilo. We want to remove corruption. Overall, we want to make Delhi a world class city. In five years, we will turn Delhi into one of the best cities and states in the world," he said.

"In five years, we want to create Delhi into a city where both the rich and the poor can live with dignity," he added.

With the Union Cabinet recommending the dissolution of the Delhi Assembly and setting the stage for fresh elections in the days to come, political parties here have begun finalizing their poll campaign strategy to grab power.

President's rule was imposed in Delhi since February after the Kejriwal-led AAP government stepped down after remaining in power for 49 days.
