Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated British Prime Minister David Cameron on the victory of his Conservative Party in the general elections in his country.
"Congratulations David Cameron. As you rightly pointed out- its "Phir Ek Baar, Cameron Sarkar!" My best wishes", the Prime Minister said on Twitter.
Cameron is set to return to Downing Street after Labour Party leader Ed Miliband conceded defeat in the wake of the Tories securing solid majority at the May 7 polls, defying pre-election predictions.
After claiming victory in Whitney, Cameron struck an inclusive tone by saying that he intended to "govern on the basis of governing for everyone in our United Kingdom".
He also voiced his desire to press ahead with a referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union and to complete the Conservatives' economic plan.
