Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended his good wishes to Myanmar on the country's 67th Independence Day.

"On their Independence Day, my good wishes to people of Myanmar. We are confident of even stronger India-Myanmar ties in years to come," the Prime Minister tweeted.

Earlier in November, Prime Minister Modi participated in the East Asia Summit in Myanmar, where he also met Indonesian and Philippines President, the Chinese Premier and the Russian Prime Minister. He had termed the trip as to be very satisfying.

January 4 marks Myanmar's 67th Independence Day.
