Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived here for the last rites of former president Dr. A.P J. Abdul Kalam.
The funeral procession carrying Kalam's body was carried to a crematorium earlier today.
Country's top leaders, including Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, will be present for the last rites of the former president, barring Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa who has cited health reasons for her absence.
Kalam, 83, passed away on Monday in Shillong after suffering a massive cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture to students at the Indian Institute of Management.
Tributes have been pouring in from home and abroad for India's "missile man", whose life inspired countless Indians.
