Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lauded ICICI Bank Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Chanda Kochhar and badminton star Jwala Gutta for their imitative as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Expressing his delight at the initiative taken by Kochhar, Prime Minister Modi took to twitter to praise the effort by Kochhar.
"Splendid effort by Chanda Kochhar! Her enthusiasm and dedication towards Swachh Bharat Mission is noteworthy," he tweeted.
Prime Minister Modi also retweeted tweets by Kochhar and Gutta signifying the same.
"This is the result... proud moment... LB Stadium cleaner," wrote Gutta, posting pictures of the cleanliness drive she undertook at the Lal Bahadur Stadium in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, Kochhar, who posted pictures of her cleanliness drive at Backbay Reclamation in Mumbai, tweeted, "Delighted to be a part of this national movement and participate in Swachh Bharat Abhiyan #MyCleanIndia @narendramodi."
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan was launched by Prime Minster Modi on the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The campaign, which was launched nationwide on October 2, focuses on sanitation, hygiene and waste management.
The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan aims at making India a clean country by 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
