Talented 11-year-old Aaryan Balaji's day was made when he was given an opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently in the midst of the ongoing monsoon session of Parliament.

A 2014 National Child Awardee for his achievements in sports, adventure and social service, Aaryan's acts of community service and social responsibility has also earned him the Gandhi Seva Medal in 2012.

An actor, model, mountaineer, unicyclist, skater, sailor and golfer, all at just 11 years, Aaryan Balaji looks to bring glory to India in his medal hunt at the World Unicycling Championships 2016 and also be the youngest ever to climb Europe's highest mountain.

He will be the first and only Indian to represent the country in Unicycling World Championships 2016 at Spain this month. He is practicing hard for four events (under-14) (400m, 800m, 10K and 42K Marathon and utterly focussed to earn the first medal for India.

From August 13 to 26, he plans to climb Europe's highest mountain, Mt Elbrus in Russia (5642m) to become the youngest ever to climb, if successful.

He plans to climb the west summit of the mountain by traversing from north to south side. The ascent is not technically difficult but requires fitness and mountaineering techniques - a real test of stamina and endurance for a 11-year old.

Aaryan is preparing to climb Everest from north side (Tibet) in 2018. He holds the world record as the youngest ever to trek up to the Everest Base Camp and climb Mt Kalapattar,5545m, in 2012 (7 yrs) and climb the tallest mountain in Africa, Kilimanjaro in 2013 (7yrs 10 months). After snow-craft training in Manali, he has climbed Mt Shitidhar and Friendship Peak in Dhauladhar Himalayas in October 2014 (8 yrs 6 months) and Stok Kangri via Markha Valley (Leh,Ladakh) in August 2015 and has also be undergone a mountain survival course in December 2015.

Aaryan has also won laurels for his acting in the 2010 Tamil film 'Aanandhapurathu Veedu' and is the Brand Ambassador of India Overseas Bank, 'Gandhi Global Family' and Polio Eradication Drive (Worldwide). He has acted in many ad films, commercials and print ads too.

A Grade VI student at the Mahatma Gandhi International School (Port Blair), Aaryan has topped the class in the final ranking every year and has won Gold Medal in the International Maths Olympiad Class IV.

Let's promote the wonder kid's efforts to take India into the world of unicycling and kids adventure.
