PM Modi, Nawaz Sharif agree for Indo-Pak NSA meeting in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif have agreed for their National Security Advisors, Ajit Doval and Sartaj Aziz, to meet in New Delhi to discuss all matters relating to terrorism.

Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar shared the information.

"[Prime Minister Modi and Sharif] agreed on... a meeting in New Delhi between the two NSAs to discuss all issues relating to terrorism," he said.

"[They agreed on] early meetings of DG BSF and DG Pakistan Rangers, followed by that of the DGMOs," he added.

In their meeting, Prime Minister Modi and Sharif also agreed to cooperate with each other to eliminate terrorism from South Asia, noting their collective responsibility to ensure peace.

The talks between the two leaders took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
