Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday saluted the martyrs who lost their lives during attack on Indian Parliament in 2001.
"We salute martyrs who lost their lives protecting the Temple of our Democracy on this day in 2001. Their sacrifices are etched in our memory," tweeted Prime Minister Modi.
It was on this day in 2001 that heavily armed-terrorists infiltrated the Parliament House and began firing their weapons during the time of Parliament session.
The martyrs included five Delhi Police personnel, a woman CRPF official, two Parliament watch and ward staff and a gardener. A journalist, who was injured, died later. All five terrorists were shot dead.
