Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Cheonggyecheon Stream in Seoul, a 'key' urban renewal project, on Tuesday morning.
Ministry of External Affairs official spokesperson Vikas Swarup took to twitter to share the information.
"What vision and will can make possible. PM visits the urban renewal project Cheonggyecheon Stream in Seoul," he posted.
"The Cheonggyecheon Stream as it looked before. And now," he added, posting pictures of the stream as it looked before the urban renewal project and its present appearance.
The Prime Minister also interacted with the Indian diaspora at the Cheonggyecheon Stream, amid chants of "Modi, Modi" and enthusiastic waving of the Tricolour.
The restoration of the Cheonggyecheon Stream, which took place from 2003 to 2005, is considered a major success in urban renewal and beautification, with the Seoul authorities reportedly undertaking it in an attempt to re-introduce nature to the city and to promote a more eco-friendly urban design.
