"As far as Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji is concerned and his constructive approach towards Jammu and Kashmir and his development agenda for the entire nation is known to everybody. And the more and more it is understood by the different sections across the political spectrum of the country and across the political spectrum of Jammu and Kashmir, it will be good for all of us," he said.

The Udhampur MP further said Prime Minister Modi has given a special priority to Jammu and Kashmir during the last 18 months.

"These peripheral states whether it is Jammu and Kashmir or the north-eastern states are high on the agenda of the present government. And I think this is evident from the fact that the Prime Minister has been taking personal interest in entire sequence of events that take place in this northern state. For example, in the month of September last year soon after the floods the Prime Minister was himself there in Srinagar, in the valley and a few weeks later he chose to spend Deepawali with the flood victims," said Singh.

"And this week, in spite of his very busy schedule, he has decided to undertake a special trip to the state of Jammu and Kashmir on November 7. So, I think this goes on to show how much priority this government accords to the state of Jammu and Kashmir and its concerns," he added.

Ahead of the Prime Minister's visit to the state, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in an interview to a national daily said that the alliance between the BJP and PDP is very strong and that when Modi speaks at a public rally in Srinagar it would be the perfect opportunity for him to reiterate his faith in India's diversity and plurality.
