Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will chair the National Committee for the Commemoration of 125th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on November 14 next year.
A National Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Dr. Singh to consider policies and lay down guidelines for commemoration events.
The Ministry of Culture is the nodal ministry for carrying out activities related to the Commemoration.
The first meeting of the National Committee is likely to be convened shortly, which will also constitute a National Implementation Committee to monitor the implementation of the projects and programmes during the commemoration of the 125th birth anniversary of Nehru.
