Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a programme-'70 Saal Azadi-Zara Yaad Karo Kurbani' on August 9.
Talking to media persons after BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting M. Venkaiah Naidu said that the campaign is aimed at developing a feeling in every person that nation is first and individual is secondary.
Naidu said the campaign would provide an opportunity for the people to recall the supreme sacrifice made by the freedom fighters during our freedom struggle.
The Minister said that a week-long Tiranga Yatra will also be undertaken from August 15 on the occasion of Independence Day to evoke nationalism and patriotism.
Naidu further said that the MPs and MLAs have been asked to take part in the yatra carrying the tricolour and visit their constituencies to remind people how the country was freed.
