A special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court on Friday granted five days custody of Aamir Gazdar, a close confidante of Zakir Naik to the Enforcement Directorate.
Gazdar was arrested by the ED yesterday.
From the preliminary investigation, it was observed that certain dummy companies were established by Dr. Zakir Naik.
Out of the various companies established by Zakir Naik, Gazdar is a director in at least six companies.
Aamir Gazdar had financial transactions with Naik and his associated companies.
Zakir Naik, along with his associates has been alleged of indulging in unlawful activities and through his provocative utterances, promoting enmity and hatred between different religious groups in India.
Further, his inflammatory speeches and lectures have inspired and incited a number of youths in India to commit unlawful activities and terrorist acts.
