The Podi-Barbi Festival is celebrated by the Adi community of Mechuka, Tato and Monigong region of West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh to thank Mother Nature for a bountiful crop.
This year it was celebrated at Solung Ground in state capital Itanagar with great fervour.
It is a post harvesting festival celebrated by the community people as thanksgiving to deity and Mother Nature for prosperous and surplus production of crops.
The festival witnessed rich cultural folk dances of Adi community of the state.
Podi-Barbi is a gift of Miti-Mita (The Goddess of Earth and Water) and is an inseparable part of the socio-cultural life of Arunachal Pradesh.
