South African Government has hinted at renewed optimism for former president Nelson Mandela, who remained in a critical condition.
Speaking after talks with President Baarck Obama, President Jacob Zuma said Madiba's condition remained unchanged, but he hoped that he may recover sufficiently to return home.
At a press briefing in Pretoria on Saturday, he said that they were hoping Mandela's heath was going to improve.
According to news24, he said that with all the prayers and good wishes he hoped Mandela would be out of hospital soon.
Obama refrained from visiting the hospital, but met privately with some relatives of Mandela, including two daughters and several grandchildren and spoke by telephone with Mandela's wife Graca Machel.
According to the report, people continued to place flowers, cards and candles at the gates of the hospital where Mandela has been fighting for his life for three weeks.
