Bengaluru Bulls recorded a fine victory over Puneri Paltan in a closely contested affair as they won 29-27 in the fourth edition of the Pro Kabaddi League here at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium last evening.
Mohit Chhillar was in great form in defence as he scored six points whereas Rohit Kumar turned the game in the last minute with a super raid and ended up with eight points.
Bengaluru Bulls gained a spot in the league table and jumped to fifth position with 13 points from four games. Puneri Paltan suffered their second defeat of the season but remain top of the table with 20 points after six games.
Deepak Niwas Hooda scored a super raid in the third minute as Puneri Paltan led 3-1 and reduced Bengaluru Bulls to four men. Ajay Rathi scored two points in the sixth minute for the Bulls to tie the game at 3-3. Puneri Paltan raiders were kept quiet by the Bulls defence as they could register only one successful raid in the first 10 minutes. Surprisingly Manjeet Chhillar attempted his first raid in the 11th minute as Puneri Paltan trailed 6-4. Deepak Niwas Hooda and Amit Rathi scored a point apiece in the 14th minute, as the teams were tied 7-7. Bulls' defence did a fine job on Puneri Paltan raiders - Manjeet Chhillar didn't score a single point -- as they led 10-8 at the end of first half.
Sonu Narwal scored two points with his first raid in the 22nd minute as Puneri Paltan led 11-10. Mohit Chhillar was in commanding form for the Bengaluru Bulls as they continued to dry up points for Puneri Paltan. Their defence, however, forced two super tackle as they tied the game at 15-15 in the 30th minute. Ajay Tomar scored a super raid in the following minute to give Puneri Paltan a three-point lead.
Manjeet Chhillar finally scored his first raid point in the 32nd minute as Puneri Paltan led 20-16. Bengaluru Bulls defence continued to shine as they forced a super tackle to tie the game at 20-20. With less than five minutes to go, Bengaluru forced another super tackle to lead 22-21.
Puneri Paltan inflicted an all in the 39th minute to lead 26-23 but Rohit Kumar scored a raid point in the last minute to make it 26-25. Kumar then followed it with an excellent super raid with 28 seconds to go as the Bulls led 28-26. He continued his hot streak and scored another raid point to turn the match in Bengaluru Bulls' favour to record an excellent victory.
