Former wicketkeeper Mark Boucher has said the Proteas will not be intimidated by Mitchell Johnson-led pace attack of Australia during their Test encounter, starting February 12.

Knowing the quality of Johnson's bowling well, Boucher said South Africa's batsmen are well prepared to deal with him.

He said Johnson is a quality bowler and bowls regularly at 145km/h-plus, and added that the Proteas batsmen will be not scared of the pace as the English were.

South Africa has the world's top-ranked bowlers in Vernon Philander and Dale Steyn at their disposal and Boucher expects them to return fire with fire, news.com.au reports.

He said the Aussies really got under England's skin, and added that that's not going to happen against South Africa.

Asked if he expects the series to be played in good spirit, Boucher said the Aussies don't stand back and he did not think the South Africans would stand back either.
