A two-member inquiry committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will travel to UK to investigate the matter of Nasir Jamshed's involvement in the alleged spot-fixing scandal in the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Jamshed was earlier arrested by Britain's National Crime Agency in connection with the alleged spot-fixing case.
While talking to Dawn, a PCB official said that a two-member inquiry committee has been formed to question Jamshed.
The left-handed batsman was suspended on the suspicion of being involved in the spot fixing scandal that shook the tournament.
As per the official, PCB's anti-corruption unit chief Col (retd) Azam and board's legal manager Salman Naseer will travel to UK to investigate the matter as soon as they receive their visa confirmation.
It should be noted that Shaharyar Khan, PCB chairman, had accused Jamshed of having contacts with English bookies and introducing the two main accused in the spot-fixing scandal to a fixer.
Khan claimed Jamshed was the one who introduced batsman Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif to a bookie under the pretext that he was a fan.
Earlier, a three-member tribunal was formed by the PCB to investigate the alleged corruption case.
Five players, including Sharjeel, Khalid, Mohammad Irfan, Jamshed and Shahzaib Hasan, have been suspended by the PCB.
