Qatar would reportedly be holding the 2022 World Cup in November-December 2022, as the traditional June-July time would prove difficult to host the tournament in the Gulf State due to the high summer temperatures.
A US magazine revealed that a FIFA task force would meet in Doha next week to recommend the dates, which would then be ratified by the FIFA executive committee at a meeting in Zurich in March, Sport24 reported.
Deciding the schedule for the 2022 World Cup has proved difficult due to the high temperatures in the Gulf State during June-July, the traditional time period of hosting the elite tournament.
However, top European clubs have so far resisted suggestions that the tournament be played during their domestic season and officials have also been anxious to avoid a clash with the 2022 winter Olympic Games, the report added.
