Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who is on a two-day pre-election tour of Assam, began his padyatra here on Tuesday.
He is expected to address his party workers at a rally after the padyatra .
During a rally at Titabor yesterday, Gandhi had showered praise on Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, saying that he had done wonderful things that changed lives of the poor, women, tea labourers and children in the state.
He also recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 2014 election promise of bringing back black money from abroad and depositing Rs 15. lakh in every citizen's account, and asked if anybody had received that amount.
The Congress vice-president kicked off his two-day visit yesterday at Gohpur in Sonitpur district on the north bank of the Brahmaputra yesterday.
