Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will be on a two-day trip to Jammu and Kashmir on the 26th and 27th of August.

During his visit he will also visit the villages and the civilians who have been affected by the ceasefire violations.

For over two months, the number of ceasefire violations by Pakistan in regions of Jammu and Kashmir has reached an alarming number.

A total of 45 violations of the border ceasefire agreement of 2003 by Pakistan have reported to be taken place in August, and over 240 ceasefire violations during the year so far.

The Congress party had earlier attacked the Centre and the PDP-BJP coalition in the state for rise in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir and ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the border areas, saying the government has 'failed' to control these incidents.
