With the government leaving no stone unturned to ensure the absolute security of all African nationals in the country, Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday condemned the recent cases of assaults on the foreign citizens in the national capital and called on the Delhi Police to take strict action and increase patrolling.

"Spoke to CP Delhi regarding the incident of physical assault against certain African nationals in New Delhi. Such incidents are condemnable," Rajnath tweeted.

He also said that the has instructed Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Verma to take strict action against the attackers and increase patrolling in such areas to ensure security of everyone.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has said that she has directed Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retd.) VK Singh and MEA Secretary (Economic Relations) Amar Sinha to meet the students, who have announced a demonstration at the Jantar Mantar.

"I have asked General VK Singh MOS and Secretary Amar Sinha to meet #Africanstudents who hv announced demonstration at Jantar Mantar," she tweeted.

Post several attacks on the African nationals in various parts of the nation, the foreign students have decided to stage a protest at the Jantar Mantar on Tuesday.
