Ramires to miss remaining PL season for Chelsea after four-match ban for 'violent conduct'

Chelsea midfielder Ramires has reportedly accepted the Football Association's (FA) charge of violent conduct against him and as a result, will miss the remaining Premier League season for the club.

The Brazilian, who was sanctioned following an off-the-ball incident involving Sebastian Larsson during his side's 2-1 defeat by Sunderland on Saturday, will serve a four-match ban after a review panel decision.

According to the BBC, Ramires elbowed Larsson towards the end of the first half at Stamford Bridge, moments after Larsson barged him off the ball in front of goal and after a review, the player will now miss Chelsea's remaining Premier League fixtures this term - against Liverpool, Norwich and Cardiff - as well as their first game of next season.

However, the report mentioned that Ramires is eligible for the second leg of Chelsea's Champions League semi-final against Atletico Madrid next Wednesday.

Manager Jose Mourinho and assistant Rui Faria are also subject to Football Association charges from the match and the duo have until Monday to respond to their charges, the report added.
