Argentina tennis ace Juan Martin Del Potro is confident of a full comeback very soon, following his brief Sydney return in January.
The former world number four, who has endured a stop-start career since winning the US Open in 2009, is recovering from a second corrective operation on his left wrist following surgery a year ago.
Del Potro said that he is not going drop his arms or surrender because of an injury, adding that if his hand responds well, he would come back as soon as possible but insisted that that depends exclusively on his hand, and it would decide his return, Stuff.co.nz reported.
The Argentine giant claimed that he is in full recovery, insisting that he is going faster than the time frame the doctor set for him as a goal and that has him enthused and that's why he believes his return would be very soon.
The 26-year-old, who missed most of the 2010 season after surgery on his right wrist, also confirmed an improved relationship with the Argentine Tennis Association (AAT) and a return to his country's Davis Cup team.
Del Potro claimed that it's very hard to live with injuries, adding that he would have trouble getting up some days. He said that for a year now the first thing he has been doing after waking up is move his fingers.
Del Potro said that his ultimately premature comeback in Sydney in January, when he still felt pain with his two-handed backhand, had helped his confidence immensely.
