Red bull team principal Christian Horner has advised Formula 1 teams to stop hurting F1's reputation by publicly discussing the sport's financial issues.

According to the BBC, Force India, Lotus and Sauber all considered boycotting the United States GP in protest at what they see as an unfair split in revenues.

Horner criticized the teams, saying that any protests should be done in private, adding that doing it publicly was the wrong way.

He said that what F1 had done during the last couple of weeks, with the public slanging matches that have gone on, was not good for the sport.

He further said the politics and the fiscal issues should be dealt with behind closed doors, with the commercial rights holder, the report added.
