Snapchat has rolled out an update for iOS and Android devices.

According to the Techcrunch.com, Snapchat has removed tap- and -hold feature, which required holding a finger down to view snaps and stories. From now, the users just have to tap to view.

Snaps have always been viewed by placing a finger on the screen and holding it there; lifting it up would immediately stop the playback. If the users want to stop watching a story, they can drag their finger down anywhere on the screen and it will close.

Snapchat allows the people to add friends using Snapcodes. These personalized QR codes with black dots surrounding the Snapchat Ghostface Chilla logo could be scanned by someone else's Snapchat camera and they would instantly follow the concerned person.

Also, now Snapchat has made adding friends easier in four ways.

Firstly, the users can add friend by adding a selfie to their Snapcode. The users will have to swipe down from the camera to see their Snapcode. Tap on it and they can shoot a series of five selfies to put their face or some other picture inside the Snapchat logo, personalizing their Snapcode.

Secondly, by saving the Snapcode. After tapping their Snapcode, a button in the top right corner lets the users save it to their camera roll or share it elsewhere.

Thirdly, the users can scan the screenshots of Snapcode. Earlier, the users could only scan a Snapcode with their Snapchat camera. Now, the users can screenshot someone else's Snapcode and then go to the Snapcode menu, select Add Friends and then pick one out of their camera roll.

Fourthly, the users can open Add Friends, and then Add Nearby, and Snapchat will use his or her location to figure out whether the other users in their proximity also have Add Nearby open.
