Swiss tennis ace Roger Federer has said that he felt comfortable and relaxed right away in his opening match of the Sony Open, where he beat Croatian player Ivo Karlovic on Friday.

The 17-time Major winner earned the only break of the match in the opening game, losing just three points on his serve to defeat the towering Karlovic 6-4, 7-6 (4) in his first match at Key Biscayne, Miami after two years.

According to Stuff.co.nz, Federer, who improved to 11-1 in the match, said that the early lead against Karlovic made the match less stressful, adding that right away, he felt relaxed and comfortable and was confident that he would not break.

The report mentioned that Federer has looked rejuvenated lately and climbed to No. 5 in the rankings this week

Meanwhile, on the women's side, Li Na reached the third round when Alisa Kleybanova, who won in the doubles on Thursday, withdrew because of a viral illness while Simona Halep withdrew because of a right toe injury, the report added.
