Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has reportedly told the club's players and fans to remain calm and carry on following a tense finale to their 2-1 victory over Sunderland.

Rodgers reportedly feels that Liverpool can win the Premier League title as he said that it is about 'calmness' now and they need to reinforce it.

According to the Mirror, Rodgers insisted that he was satisfied by Liverpool, who endured a tense finale to a 2-1 victory over Sunderland, in some ways as his side had not given in under that pressure during the Sunderland game.

Rodgers said that they are developing adding that the players have to stay calm under pressure, and the fans have to stay calm under pressure as well, although he agrees that it can be hard at times.

The Liverpool boss further added that the pressure would be there, because of the nature of the football club, but as the season progresses they would embrace that pressure and enjoy it.

Rodgers also said that they have to keep looking ahead , as they are just one point behind Chelsea, who still has to visit Anfield, adding that they have to keep 'chalking the wins', which are now seven in a row, which at the current level is incredible.

Liverpool could have won more comfortably against Sunderland after dominating, but despite goals either side of half-time from Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge a reply from visiting sub Ki Sung-Young led to a frantic final 15 minutes, and suggested that Liverpool is finally feeling the pressure, the report added.
