McLaren boss Ron Dennis has insisted that he would not bow to fan pressure and make an early decision on Jenson Button's future before the end of the season.

The McLaren boss was speaking as he revealed the 2009 champion has a surprise new threat to his Formula One future, as there are now four drivers in the running for a seat in the team in 2015.

Dennis refused to name the man who has come into the reckoning alongside Button, Kevin Magnussen and Fernando Alonso but it is thought to be their GP2 ace Stoffel Vandoorne, The Mirror reported.

A defiant Dennis said that the only people pressuring the team are the media and the fans and they would be the first ones to criticise if the team gets it wrong. He said that the results next year would be decided by the quality of the decision-making so why would they be pressured into it before the end of the season.

Dennis said that the drivers have a contract to the end of 2015. and he doesn't need to decide.

Button, who qualified a storming eighth, goes into Sunday's race not knowing if it is the last of his Formula One career, the report added.
