Star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who was named UEFA's Best Player in Europe, has reiterated his desire to call curtains on his illustrious career at Real Madrid.

Describing Real Madrid as 'the best club in the world', the Portugal international revealed that his plan is to extend his contract and carry on at the Santiago Bernabeu till the age of 41.

"I'm at the best club in the world and I want to retire here, at 41.I want to retire at Real Madrid because it's the best club in the world. My objective is to extend my contract and stay at the club I love. I want to keep playing at this level and I'll work hard to achieve it, just like I do every year. I hope I can win more titles. I'm proud of the European Cup and the Euros, I cried both times," Ronaldo was quoted as saying by goal.com.

Earlier, Ronaldo bagged the gong for the second time ahead of Madrid teammate Gareth Bale and Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann.

Ronaldo, whose contract with Madrid expires in June 2018, inspired Real Madrid to the Champions League glory with a 5-3 win over Atletico Madrid in a dramatic penalty shootout before winning Euro 2016 with Portugal following a 1-0 win after extra time against host France.
