Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 13th goal of the season as Real Madrid outclassed Las Palmas 3-1 to stay on top of the La Liga table.
Isco put the hosts ahead in the fourth minute before Portuguese international Ronaldo doubled the lead 10 minutes later with a superb header, the Guardian reported.
Although Palmas pulled one back through Hernan Santana's header in the 38th minute, Jese made it 3-1 for Real two minutes before half-time.
Meanwhile, Barcelona saw off Getafe 2-0 to keep the pace with table leaders Real with 24 points.
However, an inferior goal difference keeps them behind Rafa Benitez's team in the points table.
