Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara are all set to reveal tender relationship between Mary and Jesus in their upcoming movie 'Mary Magdalene'.

The makers unveiled the first trailer of the high-anticipated movie yesterday and it looks like the fans are in for an emotional ride.

The moving 2 minute 36 second video follows the outcast young woman (Rooney Mara) as she searches for a new way of living.

In the trailer a troubled Mary is cleansed of her 'demons' by Jesus (Joaquin Phoenix), who smiles and says, "There are no demons here," as he lays his hand on her forehead.

She watches while Jesus heals the sick and, when she points out that women are too scared to approach him, the Son of God tells her to do it.

Now firmly established in the movement, Mary finds herself at the heart of a journey that will lead to Jerusalem.

In a moment of foreboding, Jesus' mother asks Mary if she loves her son and when she says 'yes,' warns her that 'you must prepare yourself to lose him.'

Quick flashes show the ghastly crucifixion after Mary promises to be with Jesus 'until the end.'

But 'the end' never comes as she becomes a witness to a miracle.

Helmed by Garth Davis and written by Helen Edmundson and Philipa Goslett, the flick is slated theatres on March 16 in the UK.
