Mercedes has confirmed that their German driver Nico Rosberg has signed a multi-year contract extension with them.
Rosberg, who currently tops the standings from teammate Lewis Hamilton heading into his home Grand Prix at Hockenheim, said that it had been a difficult road to get where they are now.
But, Rosberg added that everybody believed in them and thanks to the support from Mercedes they are now leading the way in Formula One, The BBC reported.
The German joined Mercedes in 2010 and has taken six victories, 17 podiums and eight pole positions with them.
Head of Mercedes-Benz Motorsport Toto Wolff described the former Williams driver as one of the best drivers in Formula One, adding that Rosberg's speed, commitment and focus have all helped to give clear direction and to drive the team forward.
Rosberg said that he is looking forward to the next years together, when they would keep pushing to win even more races and championships.
