West Indies Twenty20 captain Darren Sammy is reportedly hoping that his team can silence the voluble Australians with their performance in their World Twenty20 match on Friday, the outcome of which will likely determine the fate of both teams in the tournament.
Australian all-rounder James Faulkner has already added spice to the important contest after he was quoted saying that he does not particularly like the West Indies team.
According to Sport24, Sammy said that his team is not bothered by talk from the Australians as he is aware that normally have 'a lot to say', adding that he believes West Indies is the second favourite team for the Bangladeshi fans after their own team.
Stating that they are in Bangladesh to play cricket, Sammy also said that Faulkner can say all he wants as they would just 'walk the talk' out on the field, adding that once they play to their full potential, his team will be as destructive as they were in the semi-final of the 2012 tournament.
Eventual champions West Indies thumped Australia by 74 runs in the semi-final of the 2012 tournament in Sri Lanka.
India top Group Two having won the first two matches and hope to consolidate their semi-final position with a victory against struggling hosts Bangladesh on Friday while West Indies are second, having beaten Bangladesh to bounce back after their loss against India, and Australia is fourth having lost their first match to Pakistan, the report added.
