Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Monday lashed out at Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Smriti Irani on her land grab allegations against the Congress leaders and said she is becoming a national embarrassment as she doesn't know facts.
"I don't think even she understands what land grab is, what services, what that institute is doing. The more and more she speaks, she exposes herself. I think she is becoming a national embarrassment," Dikshit told ANI here.
"Apart from good bites in a particular language in television, there is nothing substantial in her. This shows she is completely hollow, she does not know facts, does not know the truth," he added.
Rejecting the allegation of Smriti Irani, Dikshit said, "It was a land that was purchased through an auction, it was very legally done. In fact Government of UP had been trying for some years to I think dispose off the land. There was court pressure also to do that. It was a completely clean thing and by the Trust running there."
Dikshit said a criminal defamation case must be filed against her by the office-bearers of the Trust.
"Although I am nobody to offer this opinion, I would say that I think the office-bearers of the Trust must file a criminal defamation against her and put her in her place by telling her the truth," he said.
Smriti Irani on Sunday had lashed out at the Gandhi family and accused it of acquiring land from the residents for opening a factory and later on transferred the land to Rajiv Gandhi Charitable Trust.
