Sarah Taylor sets record for highest T20 score by England woman in Ashes T20 win

England woman cricketer Sarah Taylor has reportedly created history by making the highest score by an England woman player in a Twenty 20 international, during her side's win in the opening Twenty20 match of the women's Ashes series at Essex, which is England's third consecutive victory of the series.

According to News.com.au, England now lead the Ashes eight points to four and need to win only one of the remaining two T20 matches to have the urn returned, adding that the Southern Stars can only retain the urn if they win the last two T20 games, which would then draw the series.

The report further said that Taylor made history with her score of 77 at The Essex County Ground as England set Australia 147 to win, with her knock coming off 58 balls and including six fours, adding that she had eclipsed her previous best T20 score of 73.

According to the report, although Australia's Jess Cameron (35), Ellyse Perry (30 not out off 20 balls) and recalled batter Rachael Haynes (25 not out off 19 balls) lifted Australia, the night belonged to star England batter Taylor who led her side to a 15-run win.

England had earlier won the toss, choosing to bat, the report added.
