State Bank of India (SBI) on Friday played host to senior commercial bankers from Egypt at a Strategic Training Unit (STU) organized for the Egyptian bankers who were in India on a study tour on MSME units in the country.
The bankers delegation was welcomed by Debashish Sarkar CGM (STU) who also informed the bankers about the unique history, legacy and evolution of largest bank in India, SBI.
Prashant Kumar, DMD and CDO, explained the thrust given by the Bank for lending to the MSME sector. The team from SME Banking Unit, led by G. K. Kansal, CGM enlightened the guests about financing to MSME units, bank's recent initiatives including digital banking and online lending to the sellers on e-commerce platforms and taxi aggregators including the initiatives of government of India in this sector.
