The Supreme Court (SC) will hear several important cases today, including the coal scam and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) issue.
The apex court will resume hearing on a plea seeking a probe against former CBI Director Ranjit Sinha, who has been accused of scuttling investigations in the coal block allocation scam.
The Supreme Court will hear a PIL seeking its intervention to end the FTII crisis, triggered by the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as the chairman of the Pune-based institute.
The Supreme Court will also hear a plea of BJP leader Subramaniam Swamy, who is seeking the quashing of six criminal defamation complaints lodged against him for allegedly making comments against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on twitter.
