Three Kuki militants were gunned down in an encounter with security forces on Wednesday morning at N P Khullen in Manipur's Chandel District.
The militanst were killed between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
When a combined force of Manipur Police, Assam Rifles and Army reached the place for conducting a search operation, the militants started firing upon them.
In the retaliatory gunfire, the militants were killed on the spot. Two militants have managed to escape.
One carbine and one rifle each of AK-56, M-16 and G-3 have been recovered from the encounter site so far.
