The earlier governments at the Centre and in the state were being run by the selfish leaders, who were more interested in their own aggrandisement than serving the common people, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here on Friday.
Chief Minister Adityanath, who was speaking at an event here, said: "The previous Congress governments were run by selfish leaders. You must have seen the people, who lived for themselves."
"There were former Prime Ministers and ministers who have lived for themselves and lived a selfish life for their own benefits. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated his life to the country, and is working selflessly," he said.
"The country has completely changed in the last five years. The environment has changed. Earlier there was a lot of disappointment and distrust. The governments were dipped in corruption," he said.
Chief Minister Adityanath, who was speaking in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, after the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies of development works, said: "PM Modi has created a new atmosphere of faith in the country."
"Prime Minister Modi led development projects have helped the people immensely. The country has been blessed with more than 100 development projects under PM Modi's leadership," he said.
"BJP has been able to achieve what the Congress used to say is impossible. We saw how then Central government failed to act even after the terror attack in Mumbai in 2008. However, Prime Minister Modi has destroyed terror infrastructure located inside Pakistan," he said.
