The rally in the market witnessed a lift of 376 points in the Sensex in Thursday's trade. Trading at 26263.75, the Sensex was influenced by strong cues from Asian markets.
Nifty on the other hand lost its initial proximity to the 8,000 level trading at 7962.35.
The sentiments on the street saw Auto stocks in focus as the companies prepare to announce their September sales report card, which was further influenced by the RBI's recent move to cut rates by 50 bps.
Tata Motors, Eicher Motors and Bajaj Auto were prominent losers in the auto sector while Ashok Leyland, Hero MotoCorp and M&M were gainers. Reliance Communications, HCL Tech and IDFC were among the few buzzing stocks.
