At least seven people were killed and 25 others injured in a massive blaze that broke out on the fourteenth floor of the 22-storey Lake Home housing society in Mumbai's Chandivali on Saturday.
Eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire is reportedly under control now.
"In all 32 people were affected by the fire, out of them seven are dead (five men and two women). Out of the seven that were killed in the fire, five were inside the lift and in the common passages," said PS Rahangdale, chief PRO, Fire Service told ANI.
"Out of the 25 injured, 22 are still in hospital and three have been discharged. A fire official was overcome with smoke and was admitted, but he is safe now, out of danger," he added.
The reason for the fire's breakout is still not known.
