Several parents under the banner of 'Students-Parent Forum' on Monday protested outside the Deputy Commissioner's office in Shimla, demanding the state government to regulate fee in private schools.
The parents alleged that the schools hiked fee without consulting them. They also pointed out that the sudden increase in fee is against the norms set by the authorities.
The forum has planned a sequence of protests to pressurize private schools in Shimla and other parts of the state.
After the protest, the forum submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner. Another protest will be carried out on Wednesday outside the Education Directorate.
As per reports, if by March 16 the fee hike is not rolled back then they would carry out an aggressive protest in the town and in other parts of the state.
